A cyclist was taken to hospital this afternoon after colliding with a car in Purley. Two lanes on Purley Road at the junction with Purley Cross were closed as emergency services treated the cyclist, a man in his 50s, at about 3pm. The man was taken to hospital "conscious, breathing and sitting upright" and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
