  POLICE are investigating the death of a Sanderstead cat shot four times at close range with an air rifle.Beta, a tortoiseshell and white cat, left her home in Buttermere Gardens at around 5pm on Thursday, November 26 but did not make it back that night.When she reappeared at 10am the next day Beta was injured and her owners took her to a vet who confirmed she had been at least four times.Sadly Beta did not recover.Detectives are appealing to anyone who lives in the area to contact them via 101..
