Lorry overturns by school in Shirley
Croydon Guardian
The heavy-goods vehicle tipped over onto its side at a roundabout near Trinity School this morning. The accident happened junction of Wickham Road and Shirley Road this morning. The road is partially blocked and police and firefighters are on the scene.

A MAN who robbed elderly people in Croydon town centre has been jailed.Unemployed Gabriel Dragomir, 43, targeted an 89-year-old man who withdrew a quantity of cash from the NatWest bank in the Whitgift Centre at around 10.30am on July 9.The elderly man then felt someone bump into him in Sainsbury's before they ran off. The victim then checked his pockets and found his money had gone. Officers linked the robbery to a similar offence two days earlier where an 83-year-old woman had withdrawn cash.. -

A THORNTON HEATH man who arranged the importation of 1,100kg of drugs cutting agents into the UK has been jailed.Shem Lovelace-Hall, 20, organised for 100kg of phenacetin to be delivered to his flat from a pharmaceutical company in China, which was subsequently seized at Heathrow airport on June 18.The cutting agents, benzocaine and phenacetain would have contributed to the production of drugs with a street value of £32.5 million.Officers began an investigation and on September 20 another. -
