Firefighters from Addington and Woodside battle 20 tonne rubbish...
FIRE ENGINES from Addington and Woodside helped tackle a 20 tonne refuse pit fire on Wednesday. Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to the rubbish fire on Layhams Road in West Wickham at 4pm and had the fire under control by 7pm. Crews from Beckenham also attended. POLICE were flagged down by council works after four bags of cannabis were found on the roadside in South Croydon. Around 230 plants were found on Pixton Way on Wednesday at around 10.05pm. No one has been arrested and enquiries continue, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
