  A CAR got stuck on tram tracks next to Sandilands tram stop this evening. It is understood the driver tried to turn at traffic lights near the tram stop, but went the wrong way and ended up on the tracks at the entrance to the station. A picture of the car on the tracks was snapped and posted online by Twitter user Lee Dixon at about 5.15pm.

  A SHOT was fired into a Thornton Heath newsagent, missing a mother and her young child while they shopped.Sivapatham Shuganthan, a shop assistant at Allsorts Newsagent, in Beulah Road, told the Advertiser he found an injured man hiding at the back of the store following the shooting.
