  AN ELDERLY woman is in hospital in a serious but stable condition after a collision with a car in Crystal Palace this afternoon.Police were called by the ambulance service just after 12pm today to find a woman in her 70s on Westow Street.Her injuries are not being treated as life threatening, police said.The road was closed and reopened at around 4pm.

  A CARAVAN was dumped in South Norwood on Monday said to be containing building rubble and a gas can.Angered resident Michael Hennessy spotted the caravan at the lower end of Albert Road and reported it to the police.Mr Hennessy said: "It must have come from somewhere locally and I was concerned as a gas can was on board."A council spokesman said: "We have been made aware of this and will be taking action to remove the vehicle."

  AN ARMED robber who targeted a bank in South Croydon this afternoon made off before police officers got to the scene.Police were called to reports of an armed robbery at bank in South End, believed to be Natwest, at 12.20pm.A spokeswoman said a female member of staff suffered minor injuries during the incident and London Ambulance Service were called.
