  Shortly before 2.45pm today (Saturday 29 October), a member of the public alerted an on-duty police officer that they had seen a body on the bank of the River Avon near Bedminster Bridge, in Bristol. Police, ambulance and the fire service attended. The fire service has this afternoon recovered a body and sadly the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.   We are investigating an assault on a man at a nightclub in Bristol. The victim was punched in the face by an unknown man near the toilets inside SWX, in Nelson Street, shortly before 1am on Saturday 8 October. He was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured eye socket and cheekbone. He also sustained a head injury and cuts. CCTV enquiries have been carried and we hope to identify the man...

  A body was found in the search for missing 54-year-old Claire, from Street, yesterday (Friday 28 October). Although formal identification has not yet taken place, her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them. We’re currently treating her death as unexplained, but we don’t believe there are any suspicious circumstances. We will carry out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.
