    Waterloo’s Old Vic theatre has opened a £17 million extension at the rear of the building, appropriately named the Backstage.

    The theatre’s first extension in 200 years is a mix of expanding its building and also providing new public spaces and an obligatory cafe. The £17 million didn’t just go on the extension though as much of it was spent on the rest of the theatre improvements in the back-of-house facilities.

    London’s highest free viewing gallery, Horizon 22 has changed how it releases tickets to visit the space.They used to release tickets daily around 10am, and the dates had a mix of available slots for people to visit. That did mean it was more of a raffle to see if you would get the date you wanted.
    Yes, you can just turn up, and if there’s space, they will let you go up without a ticket, but it’s a risky approach if you have planned a special visit, so booking a ticket is best
