  • Lift 109 offering longer visits at the top of the Battersea Power station chimney

    Lift 109, the glass elevator that pops out of the top of a Battersea Power Station chimney, has started offering early morning visits, with a longer stay when you get to the top.A normal visit gives people 8-10 minutes at the top of the chimney, but their new Early Riser tickets gives you 20 minutes at the top to take in the view. Additionally, depending on your perspective, the morning visit omits the multimedia exhibition at the beginning, which, frankly, is a somewhat time-consuming addition
  • A new Beefeater joins the Tower of London

    The newest Beefeater to join the Tower of London’s 540-year-old tradition of having special guards has been named, as Andy Harris, a former Weapons Technician and Warrant Officer in the Royal Air Force.

    Yeoman Warder Andy Harris is the latest recruit to this historic role, which dates back to 1485, and will join 34 other Yeoman Warders who live and work at the Tower of London.

    As traditional as cream and strawberries are the large screens that pop up around London showing the Wimbledon tennis matches during the summer.
    As you might expect, seats tend to get grabbed fast for the big matches, but you’ll often be able to sit on the floor or grass, so bring a rug.
