    A free weekend of Indian art and culture at the Barbican this October
    The Barbican Arts Centre will host a weekend of free Indian art in October, when a paid exhibition will be open for free.

    The exhibition, the Imaginary Institution of India: Art 1975-1998 is the world’s first exhibition to explore and chart a period of profound cultural and political change in India. The exhibition will include a multidisciplinary work of 30 artists and 150 pieces of art, many of which have never been shown in the UK before.

    Two week part closure of the Piccadilly line starts tomorrow
    Parts of the Piccadilly line will close from Saturday for just over two weeks of upgrade work ahead of the arrival of a fleet of new trains.

    LNER to be hit by three months of weekend rail strikes
    The ASLEF union has announced nearly three months of weekend rail strikes that will affect LNER train services between London and Scotland.

    The latest round of strikes is unrelated to the recently agreed pay deal between the union and the government and is, according to the union, due to a breakdown in relations with the management of the state-owned train company.

    Tower of London to host a Remembrance light show in November
    This November, the Tower of London will be lit up with a sound and light show for the Remembrance period.Running for just nine evenings, the projections will feature artwork reflecting on the First and Second World Wars that will transform the architecture of the Tower buildings.
    After walking around the light and sound show, visitors can then visit the Crown Jewels without the usual daytime crowds.
