    TfL’s debt ratings upgraded by Moody’s citing tight cost controls and increased income
    Tight cost control and improving passenger revenues have seen Transport for London (TfL) receive a vote of confidence from Moody’s debt ratings agency.When TfL borrows money by issuing debt, the ratings agencies give it a quality score, which affects the amount it has to pay in interest payments. The higher the quality score, the lower the cost of servicing the debt.

    The flyover, built in the 1960s, forms a pretty ugly dark barrier south of Hammersmith town centre. The gyratory and unwelcoming road layout, all legacies of 1960s thinking, make it worse at street level.

    TfL adds 900 e-bikes to the cycle hire network
    The TfL cycle hire scheme has increased the number of e-bikes available, adding 900 new bikes to the network. This is the first batch of an expansion plan that will take TfL’s e-bike fleet to 2,000 bikes by the end of summer 2024.Since their introduction in 2022, the existing e-bike fleet has been hired out for over a million times, and the bikes are currently being hired at around twice the rate of a classic bike.

    This small slip of a side passage off busy Tottenham Court Road is one of the few surviving passages from when this area was first built.The alley appeared as a short passage lined with houses in the late 1700s, when the area was still being turned from fields into homes.

    Network Rail has released a video of dangerously close near misses on the railway when people brazenly ignore the stop signs at level crossings.

    Although near misses on level crossings are declining, they are still a serious problem. Last year, there were 466 incidents of level crossing misuse and 28 near misses at level crossings across Network Rail’s Wessex route and 258 incidents of misuse and 33 near misses at level crossings across the Kent route.
