• Orange launches Max it app in Middle East and Africa

    Telco group Orange has introduced a ‘super app’ to countries in the Middle East and Africa region, which promises to coalesce telecommunications, financial, and e-commerce services.
    Max it will be available to anyone regardless of their operator, and will debut in Cameroon, Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Botswana before being extended to 12 other countries in the region in the coming months.

  • Ofcom wants the industry to share more spectrum

    Ofcom is keen to foster a culture of sharing in the UK telecoms market and as such has opened a consultation into proposed new spectrum sharing rules.
    Buoyed by the success of its existing shared access framework, the UK regulator is seeking to introduce greater flexibility into the management of shared spectrum, thereby making more spectrum available, particularly in the “busiest” 3.8 GHz-4.2 GHz band, it says.
