    Strike on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) next week
    There will be a two-day strike on Docklands Light Railway (DLR) next week which is expected to severely affect services.Transport for London (TfL) is warning that at the moment, they don’t expect any DLR services to run on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th November 2023 – but if any services do run, they will start late and finish early.
    To be safe though, it’s probably best to assume no DLR service will run, unless the strike is called off at the last minute.

    Virgin Media O2 is reportedly close to selling a stake in its UK towers business, but it may bring in a little less money than previously predicted.
    The UK operator is in exclusive talks with UK investment firm GLIL Infrastructure that could lead to it selling a chunk of Cornerstone, Reuters claimed over the weekend, citing as many as four anonymous sources.

  • Jio intros satellite broadband service

    India’s Reliance Jio has added yet another connectivity service to its stable in the form of JioSpaceFiber.
    Following the recent rollout of fixed-wireless access (FWA), it has now launched a new satellite broadband service that promises to provide gigabit speeds to the most remote parts of the country.

  • KKR to pump $400 million into subsea cable firm

    Investment firm KKR will drop $400 million onto infrastructure and subsea cable services firm OMS Group, which it is the parent of.
    We’re told the investment will enable OMS to expand its fleet size and capabilities, invest in cable landing stations and subsea cable routes serving cross-border data transmission, and is specially in relation to the region of Southeast Asia.

    A group of TIM’s minority shareholders has called on the Italian incumbent to cancel its plan to sell its fixed-line assets and instead offload its retail business and Brazilian operations.
    The new plan comes from Merlyn Partners, a fund that represents shareholders collectively holding less than 3% of TIM. Alessandro Barnaba, one of Merlyn’s founders, and former TIM executive Stefano Siragusa have been working together for the past few months to come up with an alternative strategy

    The G7 bloc are reportedly putting together a ‘voluntary’ code of conduct for the development of AI systems, according to a document.
