    Ravenous VMO2 customers used 39 billion gigabytes of data in a year
    One year to the day since the merger which created it, UK telco group Virgin Media O2 reveals what the 39 billion gigabytes of data its customers have gobbled up was used on.
    The 39 billion gigabytes in question encompasses the group’s fixed and mobile networks, and the firm has released some other stats related to what it calls an ‘eyewatering’ amount of network data, voice traffic and TV usage it has handled over the past year.

    Telia offloads 49% of its towers in Sweden
    Swedish operator group Telia has completed the sale of a minority stake in its Swedish tower business to investors Brookfield and Alecta.
    The deal was announced in January 2022, and now that all regulatory approvals have apparently been received, on closing Telia will get SEK 5.5 billion for the 49% stake in its towers in Sweden.

    The UK’s Competitions and Markets Authority is investigating the proposed joint venture between BT and Warner Bros Discovery, which would to merge their sports content into a new entity.
