An end to the Euston Stampede
via ianvisits.co.uk
A previously shabby ramp that lead to platforms 8-11 at Euston has been doubled in width and given a revamp to help reduce the “Euston Stampede” that it often struggled to cope with. The ramp used to be wider, but the addition of shops to the ramp in the 1980s and increasing passenger numbers since had led to bottlenecks and crowds forming when trains were announced. They’ve now removed the shops and widened the slope back to its original width. And even put some seats down the -

US tech masters of the universe squabble over the future of the internet
Having stepped down as CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey has criticized claimed ‘Web3’ technology, which has inevitably triggered some of its cheerleaders.
At a conceptual level Web3 is the evolution of the internet towards a fully decentralized technological model based on blockchain, which will counter the domination of the current iteration by a few giants, such as Google and Facebook. As with anything blockchain, is can all appear very arcane and abstract so we recommend reading around -

Find the Fleet Street sundial
via ianvisits.co.uk
If you look up on the side of a building on Fleet Street you’ll see what looks like a mural of old newspapers – but it’s actually a sundial.Added a couple of months ago, the design is byPiers Nicholson, a maker of sundials who happened to move into the building next door a decade ago and was curious about what could be done to improve an otherwise blank wall.
It’s taken a decade to persuade successive owners of the building to put something on the wall, and it’s to -
