Following a couple of fires on the London Underground, TfL has decided to impose a ban on all e-scooters and e-unicycles across its entire network and its stations.
From Monday (13th Dec), customers using either sort of device will not be permitted to enter any premises on TfL’s network or travel on any of its services, including on the Tube, buses, Overground, TfL Rail, Trams and DLR.
The reason for the ban being introduced is that there have been two fires in recent months involving the

A contract worth £2 billion to build a fleet of 54 high-speed trains in the UK has been signed today by HS2. In total, 54 new trains, each capable of reaching 225mph will be built by Alstom and Hitachi Rail, at their factories in County Durham, Derby and Crewe.
The contract is considerably cheaper than had been previously expected coming in at around £2 billion compared to the £2.75 billion that had been estimated in 2017 when the procurement process started. This was put down -

Telefonica Tech and Ecoembes unveil the bin of the future
Digital transformation firm Telefonica Tech and environmental organisation Ecoembes have teamed up to produce a series of 5G enabled ‘smart bins’ in Spain.
This project has seen 16 containers deployed in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona.
The ‘smart yellow bins’ identify what trash is being deposited into them via a barcode reader ring, and that information is transmitted to a data analysis centre via 5G narrow band connectivity, supplied by Telefonica Tech.
