The RMT union has called strike action that will affect the resumption of the Night Tube which is due to start in a couple of weeks time.
The dispute is over plans that TfL wants to merge the existing Night Tube category of staff with the main driver’s pool so that all drivers are available for shifts. Although the changes make it easier for night-tube limited staff to become full-time drivers, they also mean that existing tube drivers could, in the future, be asked to work the night tube

Tulip viewing tower for London – appeal rejected
via ianvisits.co.uk
Plans to build a tall viewing tower in the City of London, called the Tulip, although ruder names exist, have been blocked by Housing Minister Christopher Pincher.
The tall tower had been planned as a viewing platform to sit next to the Gherkin, which is owned by the same company, and would have had a concrete spine taking people to the bud at the top, with viewing floors and a series of outside glass lifts.

Microsoft and Facebook get cozy over workplace collaboration
Users of Microsoft Teams will be able to directly access Workplace stuff without leaving the app, in a move that will add to concerns over the ubiquity of big tech.
Microsoft has done a good job of getting businesses to use its desktop instant messaging platform for chats and general collaboration. In fact, the claimed number of daily active users has been shooting up suspiciously fast this year. The artist formerly known as Facebook also has a collaboration platform called Workplace, which has -
