  • Europe wants to hit internet giants with 3% revenue tax, for starters

The European Commission has picked a good time to try to tax internet giants more, starting with 3% of revenues made from advertising, data and digital interactions.
The most significant fall-out from the overblown, but persistent Cambridge Analytica story will be for internet giants to face far more scrutiny over how they use the extensive data they gather on all of us. What seems to upset people the most is when they’re reminded of the Faustian pact they have made with said giants by bei

The smart watch euphoria never took off, so logic surely dictates the price point was just too low… Hang on a sec.
LVMH, which owns such brands as Louis Vuitton, Hennessy and Lady Dior, has told Bloomberg of plans to launch a luxury smart watch product line under the Hublot brand. We’ve never been convinced by the segment on the whole, and when Apple can’t convince it cult-like following to buy the products it is never a good sign. But LVMH is clearly confident in the $5,200 p
  • My job is to fix the UK biz – Vodafone UK MD

While 5G dominates conversation in the telco space, it couldn’t be the only thing operators execs think about. So we asked Vodafone UK Managing Director Nick Jeffery what keeps him up at night.

Qualcomm’s board benefitted from protectionism to nix the Broadcom acquisition, but is now discovering there are two sides to that game.

This position has apparently been prompted by lobbying from Chinese firms arguing the deal could hurt them and thus should be blocked.
    Now where could they h

  • IBM arrives to make iOS apps smarter

Artificial intelligence is set to take the world by storm before too long, but Apple hasn’t really shown it is any good in this growing field. Hopefully an extended partnership with IBM can bring greater fortunes.
It shouldn’t be considered a bad move from the iLeader, as while many will point to Google or Amazon as the leaders in the AI race, IBM is no mug, despite not getting as much attention as it probably deserves. Don’t forget, Watson is a powerful AI offering which has t
