Deutsche Telekom has outlined its fibre-to-the-home ambitions, with 40,000km of optical fibre to be laid this year.
Considering German stereotypes for efficiency, the fibre rollout is not going as you would expect. Part of this will of course be down to the size of the country, but in comparison to some other nations in Europe, the Germans have a long way to go. UK MNOs set to claw back millions from the state in inflated license fees
The UK Court of Appeals has ruled in favour of a challenge by UK mobile operators against an Ofcom decision to triple UK mobile license fees in 2015.
Ofcom decided to hike up the total paid by EE, Vodafone, O2 and 3 from £64.4 million to £199.6 million in September of 2015. This decision seems to have been demanded by the government of that time despite, industry insiders advise, assurances that price rises would be limited in return for 90% geographical coverage commitments.

Virgin Media Business reckons it can tap into the growing remote working trend by enabling people to access their work VPNs from their mobile devices.

UK ISPs told to stop using ‘up to’ broadband speed claims
The Advertising Standards Agency has placed a slither of logic into broadband advertising rules, partly tackling the issue of misleading representations with the use of ‘up to’ in adverts.
