• Could the super-aggregator be the salvation of telco content ambitions?

Telecoms.com got its first experience of IBC this year and while it was a very interesting experience, it raised more questions than answers around what role telcos have in the world of content.
First of all, let’s have a look at the basics. The telcos want to be involved in content because it is a value add, and the only way the telcos are going to avoid commoditization of their services is by finding value in what they add to the consumers life. Right now data is not a value add, it&rsqu
  • T-Mobile US and Sprint merger rumour of the day: it’s back on!

It is being reported that T-Mobile US and Sprint might be set to merge. This is only the 400th time such a move has been rumoured in the past few years.

Further evidence that operators are increasingly looking to go it alone on networking tech as Rima Qureshi joins her old Ericsson boss at Verizon.
Qureshi threw in the towel at Ericsson back in May of this year and apparently negotiated four months of gardening leave, down from the presumed six, presumably because Verizon is not a direct competitor to Ericsson. That status may change, however, if Verizon keep stockpiling former networking execs.
At the same time former Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg
