Legendary investor George Soros says the stock market is trapped in a Fed-fueled liquidity bubble
The stock market's rally is trapped in a Federal Reserve-formed liquidity bubble, the billionaire investor George Soros said in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
Valuations rest on hopes for another fiscal stimulus bill and President Donald Trump announcing a coronavirus vaccine before Election Day, Soros said.
The legendary investor advised investors to assume fallibility and reflexivity in markets, as participants' worldviews "are always incomplete and distorted."

The US economy's 'depression-like' collapse will set up stocks for a 'wartime boom,' according to a top Wall Street strategist
The stock market may see a "wartime boom" next year following the US economy's "depression-like collapse," a prominent Wall Street strategist told CNBC on Wednesday.
Economists predict that US GDP could rebound to one of its strongest levels ever in the first quarter next year.
Having to operate in a depression-like environment, "knee-jerk" reactions forced companies to cut down on most costs and increase efficiencies, Paulsen told CNBC.
"A lot of that boom will fall to the bottom li -
Warren Buffett should cut his $110 billion Apple stake, veteran Berkshire Hathaway investor says
Warren Buffett should sell some of his $110 billion of Apple stock, according to a longtime Berkshire Hathaway shareholder.
"Apple's shares have appreciated meteorically and are quite expensive relative to the company's earnings power," Darren Pollock, portfolio manager of Cheviot Value Management, told Business Insider.
"We would not be averse to Berkshire trimming back its gigantic stake in Apple," he added.
Pollock also defended Buffett's caution during the coronavirus pandemic, and praised B -
The stock market has 'a ways to go' as increased liquidity flows into stocks, Wharton professor Jeremy Siegel says
The stock market still has "a ways to go" even as it approaches record all-time highs, according to Wharton professor Jeremy Siegel.
In an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, Siegel said that the increased liquidity from central bank policies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic will flow into stocks, pushing them past record highs.
Siegel expects a "spending boom" to occur in 2021 as pent-up demand from consumers and increased liquidity is unleashed on the economy once a successful vaccine -

Stocks will soar 14% by the end of next year on unyielding optimism, long-standing bull Ed Yardeni says
The stock market is "discounting lots of good news through the end of next year" and will rally into 2022, strategist Ed Yardeni said in a Wednesday note.
The longtime bull raised his S&P 500 targets to 3,500 for this year and 3,800 for 2021.
Stocks remain in the same melt-up that began in late March, and expectations for strong profit growth should keep prices rallying for several months, Yardeni said.

This one sign could indicate that a stock-market sell-off is near, Wells Fargo stock chief says
Chris Harvey, Wells Fargo Securities head of equity strategy, told CNBC that short interest ticking up from low levels could indicate stock market sell-offs.
"It's not a catalyst by itself, but it's a concern, and it's a concern as we see the market melting up," he said.
Short interest on the S&P 500 as a percentage of float is at "very low levels," Harvey said. It stood at 3.1% last week, CNBC reported, citing Wells Fargo Securities data. That's down from 3.3% in mid-July.

The IEA warns global oil demand will shrink further in both 2020 and 2021, held up by gloomy air travel
The International Energy Agency lowered its global oil demand forecasts for 2020 and 2021 on expectations of a further downturn in air travel.
Although there has been a recovery in business and industrial activity, that did not deter the agency from downgrading its estimates.
The Paris-based agency expects global oil demand to fall by 8.1 million barrels a day year-on-year to 91.1 million barrels a day this year, driven by lower demand for jet fuel.
For 2021, the agency revised down its prior es -
