Putnam's Global Technology Fund has outperformed nearly all of its peers over the last five years.
Di Yao, the fund's co-manager, said he and his partner have focused on companies that the market either doesn't understand or with which it's not familiar.
They've found some of their best bets overseas and among smaller companies in the US; but they've also placed some winning bets on some of the tech giants.
Yao told Business Insider about 3 stocks he particularly likes in his portfolio &md

Rahul Narang's tech fund has beaten peers for 2 years running by focusing on stocks others won't touch. He breaks down his 3-part approach to finding winners — and shares 4 of his favorite bets right now. (CMTFX, AAPL, AMZN, AVGO, MU, TSM)
Rahul Narang runs one of the best-performing tech funds over the last five years, the Columbia Global Technology Growth Fund.
His strategy has been to focus on the two ends of the tech market — the most and least expensive stocks; over time, both have performed better than those in the middle, he told Business Insider.
Narang's fund is built around three big components: companies with so-called moats; underappreciated, value stocks; and those that are capitalizing on the big themes in tech -

McConnell's comments echoed those from Larry Kudlow, the National Economic Council director, who said last month that additional direct payments could go toward "people who lost their jobs and are most in need."

Stocks could fall 40% in a collapse mimicking the Great Depression, famed economist Gary Shilling says
The stock market faces a reckoning when investors come to terms with the coronavirus' long-term economic damage, legendary economist Gary Shilling said.
Shilling — who correctly called the housing-market crash of 2008 — told CNBC that equities could tank up to 40% once such realizations are made.
Such a drop would be "very much reminiscent of what happened in the 1930s" when investors came to grips with the Great Recession's prolonged fallout and sold off risk assets, the econo -

JPMorgan says a Biden victory in November could be positive for stocks
"The consensus view is that a Democrat victory in November will be a negative for equities," JPMorgan analysts led by Dubravko Lakos-Bujas wrote in a Monday note. "However, we see this outcome as neutral to slight positive."
Several factors could make a Joe Biden presidency positive for stocks, the note said, including a smaller-than-expected rollback of corporate tax cuts, infrastructure spending, softened tariff rhetoric, and an increased federal minimum wage.

He told Business Insider that the US wouldn't return to its fourth-quarter 2019 real GDP level until at least 2022 and that for some European countries a recovery won't happen until 2023.
"It will take a long time for life to return to normal," Barraud told Business Insider.
