For more than a decade, Silicon Valley's law of the land has rested on one fundamental principle: a startup's founder does whatever they want, unmolested by the rules and constraints governing everyone else, and the investors backing the startup keep their mouths shut and reap big returns.
This non-aggression pact between startups and investors is known as "Founder Friendly." It's long been touted as the magic recipe that produced smash-hits like Google and Facebook. It's the reason Mark Zucker

The prospect of a 4-day American workweek may gain a powerful ally on the 2020 campaign trail: Bernie Sanders
The drive to shorten the American workweek may be gaining a powerful ally in the 2020 presidential race: Sen. Bernie Sanders.
"Shortening the workweek is certainly one idea that we have got to look at," Sanders said, though he also noted there are "a number of other ideas" to improve the wellbeing of American workers.
Yet Sanders' openness to an idea that's been at the fringe of policy discussions in the US for decades could give it more mainstream acceptance.
It could be similar to how his embr -

Why Morgan Stanley thinks the recent trade-war breakthrough could lead overconfident traders into a late-2018-style market meltdown
Mike Wilson, Morgan Stanley's chief US equity strategist, says the recent US-China "trade truce" doesn't change the direction of the economy and could set the market up for failure.
Wilson argues that stocks are positioned for a repeat of December's steep sell-off. While stocks rallied on renewed hopes for an end to the trade war, Wilson said that the US economy was still losing strength and headed for a recession.
He added that the rally last week upended some of the market's recent leaders, an -
Beyond air miles: Emirates Airlines rewards customers for engagement
Emirates Airlines believes it can do loyalty better and is evolving its offering to get more people on board.
Most recently, this has involved a shift towards using the lifecycle of the customer to do more targeted messaging. Whereas much of the messaging in the app has been operation-focused in the past, such as around flight information, Emirates is now looking to engage customers at the moments where there is a “bigger chance for that instantaneous impulse purchase”.
