Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and 12 other banks hiring for high-paying jobs like crazy right now
If you're looking for a new job in finance, you may want to check out openings at Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, or Wells Fargo.
Those three companies are doing some of the heaviest hiring right now for jobs in the US that pay more than $100,000 base salary a year, according to Indeed.
The job search engine compiled a list of big banks currently trying to fill the most full-time jobs that pay over $100,000. The salary data is a combination of company and user input.

$2.3 trillion could flood into the stock market
A huge amount of investment dollars have flowed out of equities and into bonds over the past decade.
But, according to a note published by Societe Generale's Cross Asset Research team on Monday, this "de-equitisation" trend has slowly been reversing, and "a significant portfolio rebalancing may be on the cards."
That could lead to a flood of money, potentially amounting to $2.3 trillion, moving in to the stock market.
The percentage of equities in mutual fund portfolios (bot -
There’s a catch with OPEC’s plan to cut production
OPEC agreed to curtail production output back in November for the first time since 2008.
The bulk of the cartel's cut is coming from Saudi Arabia, although others including Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar will also participate. Meanwhile, Libya and Nigeria, which were plagued by ongoing production outages last year, are exempt.
Additionally, several major non-OPEC producers including Russia also agreed to tag along soon after.
The decision to limit production reverses -
BAML: Stocks are going to 'melt up' 10%
Get ready for a big upswing in the market, according to Bank of America Merril Lynch.
Michael Hartnett, BAML's chief investment strategist, thinks there will be a rapid rise in the stock market in the coming months.
"Our tactical view: after a January/February wobble, we believe stocks & commodities will have one last 10% melt-up in [the first half of the year]," wrote Hartnett.
"Call it the Icarus trade. The current melt up, which started back in Feb 2016, will be followed by a meltdow -
The same thing happens on Wall Street every earnings season — except this time it could be different
Earnings surprises over the next few weeks may be tamer than usual.
As usual, analysts lowered their estimates for fourth-quarter earnings in the weeks leading up to announcements, which pick up pace this week.
But this time, the drop was below average, setting Wall Street up for fewer surprises, according to Julian Emanuel, US equity and derivatives strategist at UBS.
"While we expect earnings to surprise to the upside as is customarily the case, the fact that the decline in consens -
GOLDMAN SACHS: 17 stocks that have a long way to fall
Goldman Sachs has some ideas about what US stocks to sell in 2017.
Shares of Kohl's Corp., the American retail chain, have the most downside among US stocks, closely followed by Boeing and Transocean, according to the most recent US quarterly outlook published by Goldman Sachs.
The firm arrived at the downside ranking of a stock by looking at the percent difference between its current trading price and Goldman's target price set for the stock.
We provide a list of the top 17 US st -
5 restaurant chains that will dominate in 2017 (PNRA, BWLD, HABT, PLAY, RRGB)
2017 is poised be a difficult year for the restaurant industry.
However, some restaurant chains are still expected to shine.
Every year at the annual retail-centric ICR Conference, which is taking place this week in Orlando, Florida, sell-side equity research analysts make bets on which restaurant stocks will soar in the new year. Analysts pick just one of the public restaurant companies attending the conference as the "best restaurant stock pick" of 201 -
Warren Buffett's favorite banker just landed a $9 billion deal
Byron Trott is on a roll.
BDT Capital, the firm set up by the former Goldman Sachs banker, is advising Mars Inc., the maker of candy and pet food, on its $9.1 billion deal to buy the animal hospital company VCA Inc.
BDT is working alongside Morgan Stanley on behalf of Mars and is expected to share in $30 million to $35 million in fees, according to estimates from Freeman & Co.

Another movie finally toppled 'Rogue One' in the top spot at the box office
When Sunday's box-office estimates were released, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" was $100,000 ahead of the drama "Hidden Figures" to win the weekend box office for a fourth consecutive week.
But the final figures have come in and "Hidden Figures" surpassed "Rogue One" on Sunday to finally knock the "Star Wars" standalone movie from its perch.
"Hidden Figures," released by 20th Century Fox, stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe as the unsung Africa -

British Army puts personalisation ‘front and centre’ in recruitment drive
The British Army has launched a campaign to attract new recruits by focusing on emotional need states and personalised messaging.
The ‘This is Belonging’ campaign, created by Karmarama, looks to build on last year’s ‘Become a Better You’ campaign by focusing on the close bonds developed in Army life and the sense of belonging it can offer.
The new campaign comes after a report by the Telegraph late last year showed the Army is struggling to recruit, with the number -
China's leaders are about to test the promise that holds their country together
China's leaders are about to test the promise that holds their entire country together.
It's a pretty simple one: In exchange for accepting authoritarian rule, citizens have for decades been promised rapid economic growth by the Chinese Communist Party.
This is more commonly known as the "Chinese dream" and was popularized by President Xi Jinping in 2013 to communicate the government's commitment to turning China into a "moderately prosperous society."
Until this year, CCP leaders pulled out all -
Alibaba founder Jack Ma meets with Trump, pledges to create 1 million US jobs (BABA)
Jack Ma, the founder and chairman of Alibaba Group, met with President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower on Monday.
Ma and Trump met with reporters briefly after the meeting and said they discussed plans to create 1 million US jobs by allowing small and medium-size businesses to sell to China through the company's platforms.

Goldman Sachs could earn an extra $3 billion from a major trading rebound
There's a major rebound underway in the fixed income, currencies, and commodities — or FICC — trading business on Wall Street, and one bank stands to win big from it.
Goldman Sachs could earn as much as $3 billion in additional revenues over the next two years, according to UBS analyst Brennan Hawken. In a recent note, he forecast a $15 billion recovery in FICC revenues for the bulge bracket firms, bringing the wallet back to 2011-2013 averages.

Asia finds itself at a 'negative intersection' in an unpredictable world
A lot is at stake for Asia in 2017.
The region "stands in 2017 at the negative intersection of many of the factors most of concern in this increasingly unpredictable world," according to a note from Deutsche Bank strategists led by Sameer Goel.
Asia is especially vulnerable to a host of geopolitical and macro risks, ranging from a stronger dollar to the policies of US President-elect Donald Trump.
The Deutsche Bank note focuses on what it calls "fatter tails," which is to say there are higher r -

Trump's proposed border tax will hit these industries the hardest (ROST, BURL)
President-elect Donald Trump last week said General Motors would face a "big border tax" for making a model of the Chevy Cruze in Mexico.
This followed his earlier warnings that US companies would face consequences for making US-sold products abroad. Companies sometimes move production offshore because it's cheaper. In Trump's view, this costs Americans jobs.
One aspect of tax reform that House Republicans have proposed is a border-adjusted tax that -

How CES is evolving and why this matters for marketers
Lego introduced a Boost Building and Coding set at CES this year. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) returned for the 50th time last week, aiming to showcase the best (and sometimes worst) of the tech industry.
There were some interesting products on view, from jeans that tickle wearers to smart boxer shorts for men. Yet many of the big tech firms no longer use it to announce major product updates.
The show, which began in 1967, has in its time seen the introduction of Blu-ray disc format, plasm -

Big four expected to profit as discounters stumble over Christmas
Despite big budget advertising campaigns (courtesy of Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot and Lidl Surprises), analysts are claiming that Aldi and Lidl saw disappointing sales over Christmas.
Clive Black, head of research at the stockbroker Shore Capital, predicts sales at Lidl’s existing shops fell by as much as 4% as Aldi’s remained “flat” over the festive period. However, even though the discounters saw sales fall, their market share would have risen in December, according -

Tesco makes step change in how it talks about food with new campaign
Tesco is making a big change to the way it talks about food in its advertising, moving away from promoting individual items or heroing particular products to instead set out its quality credentials and the passion and care that goes into the meals its customers prepare.
The campaign, ‘Food love stories brought to you by Tesco’, launches today (9 January) and is the first major food campaign from its agencies BBH and MediaCom, which were appointed in 2015 by the then new CEO Dave Lew -
Four trends that will redefine media in 2017
1. Live streaming enters the mainstream
Brands have to date approached live video streaming as an experiment or PR stunt, rather than a core tactic within their marketing armoury. Expect that to change in 2017 as the live streaming services of all the big social networks grow their user base and the concept gains traction among consumers.
Facebook went in hard with a multimedia advertising campaign to promote its Facebook Live service at the end of last year, while its sister company Instagram -
