• Quiz Clothing increases discounting amid search for buyer

    Quiz Clothing administrators have stepped up its clearance sale throughout its stores as it presses ahead with its hunt for a buyer. 
    The increased discounting comes after the fashion retailer fell into administration last week, with more than 100 redundancies confirmed after a tough Christmas trading period.

    Homewear retailer Habitat and social media platform Pinterest have unveiled the latest short story in their ‘Home of Attention’ series.

  • Debenhams teams up with PayPal on AI-driven shopping

    Debenhams Group has partnered with PayPal on an AI-driven shopping experience.
    The tie-up makes Debenhams the first UK retailer to enable customers to discover, receive personalised recommendations and checkout entirely within the PayPal app.
    PayPal is currently testing its AI assistant with select US customers, according to Debenhams. A broader US and UK launch is planned for later this year.

    Asos head of loyalty and customer engagement Macy Hong has left the fashion retailer.
    The executive joined Asos in September 2022 under a strategy and operations role.

    Footasylum boss David Pujolar departed the company yesterday (12 February).
    The CEO joined the shoe retailer in March 2024, after serving as general manager of Italian sportswear brand Aw Lab.
    Prior to this, he worked for Adidas Group from 2007 to 2013, most recently serving as its Global Bu’s Director Women, Kids and Acc.

  • ‘Cautious optimism’ as footfall decline slows, says BRC

    Total UK footfall decreased by 0.6% year-on-year (YoY) in January, up from -2.9% in December.
    The latest British Retail Consortium (BRC)-Sensormatic data, which covers the four weeks 04 – 31 Jan, also showed high Street footfall fell by 1.9% in January (YoY), down from -0.9% in December.
