Dunelm has snapped up luxury home decor company Designers Guild for an undisclosed sum.
The homewares giant has acquired the brand’s IP and design archive, but did not acquire its stores or business operations, after what it described as a “highly competitive” sales process, The Times reported.

Shein raises US prices by up to 377% as Trump tariffs take hold
Shein has raised prices for US shoppers, following through on its warning earlier this month that new tariffs would push operating costs higher.

UK retail store openings accelerate despite tax hikes
UK retailers committed to opening more stores during the first quarter of the year, despite worries over tax changes coming into effect this month.
Between January and March, just under 7,000,000 sq ft of retail space was leased throughout the UK, making it the highest amount since the pandemic started, according to property firm CoStar.

Deliveroo founder set for £172m payout following takeover offer
Deliveroo co-founder and chief executive Will Shu is in line for a £172m payout if the firm’s board approves a £2.7bn takeover from US rival DoorDash.
The UK-listed rapid delivery giant confirmed on Friday (25 April) that it had received an indicative takeover proposal for 180p a share from DoorDash at the start of the month.
Deliveroo said that should a firm offer be made, it would be “minded to recommend” the proposal to its shareholders.

M&S: WFH staff locked out of systems amid cyber attack fallout
M&S has shut remote-working employees out of some of its IT systems as it struggles to recover from the fallout of a cyberattack last week.
