Very losses deepen as first quarter sales fall in ‘challenging’ environment
Very Group pre-tax losses widened as first quarter sales for the ecommerce giant slipped 5%.
The retailer reported its loss before tax had swelled to £22.9m in the 13 weeks to 28 September, up from the £5.8m the year before.

John Lewis ‘worried’ about minimum wage increase
John Lewis has admitted it is “worried” about the impact of higher employment costs ahead of the national minimum wage rise next year.
The retailer’s head of distribution John Munnelly said the increase in labour costs were weighing on the business’s turnaround.

Pets at Home has seen total group revenue rise by 1.9% to £789.1m in its first-half results for FY25, despite operating in a “subdued” retail market.
The pet specialist said its Vet Group remained a standout performer, with revenue growth of 18.6%, driven by a combination of increased subscriptions, higher average transaction values, and more frequent visits.
