• Mamas & Papas posts record sales as expansion drives growth

  Mamas & Papas has posted record sales for the 12 months to 31 March, boosted by the opening of new stores and increased demand for its range of baby products.
  The high street nursery retailer‘s sales reached £154.3m during the period, up 7.1% from £144.1m in 2022/23.
  Underlying profit increased by 27% to £13.2m, from £10.2m, with adjusted pre-tax profit up 33% to £9.1m, from £6.8m the previous year.

  Sainsbury’s sales and profits edged up in its first half as it claimed to be making “the biggest market share gains in the industry”.
  The grocery giant‘s retail underlying operating profit hit £503m, up 3.7%, driven by strong grocery volume growth, though this was partially offset by a lower contribution from Argos.
