Debenhams has released its star-studded Christmas campaign for 2024, titled “Duh, Debenhams”.
Depicting a light-hearted take on the typical festive frenzy, the department store’s 30 second hero advert shows the retailer as the ultimate destination to ease seasonal shopping stress.
The campaign, produced by creative communications agency Exposure, encourages shoppers to question why they endure the crowds when they can enjoy a hassle-free experience at Debenhams.

John Lewis has released its second series of ads in its three-part Christmas campaign for this year.
The department store’s second chapter ‘Give Knowingly’ spotlights the retailer’s gifts range as it looks to reinforce the business as the “home of gifting”.

Next debuts premium online retailer Seasons
Next has rolled out its premium online fashion platform, Seasons, selling a selection of oremium and luxury brands.
The website launch, which was announced in September, seeks to build on the success of the retailer’s Reiss acquisition, which it now owns 74% of.
Next is planning to grow its third-party business by creating a dedicated ecosystem for higher-end labels, including Ganni, Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch.

Selfridges losses double despite sales hike
Selfridges losses more than doubled in its latest annual results, despite witnessing a sales hike.
Filings for Cambridge Retail Group Holding, which is owned by Central Group and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, showed pre-tax loss hit £340m for the year to 3 February, compared to £126m losses the year prior.
However, sales soared 95% to £1.6bn for the company, partly due to a rise in its finance bill including interest paid on borrowings.
