The Entertainer has completed its major roll-out of more than 850 toy shop-in-shops within Tesco stores as part of its partnership with the grocery giant.
The toy specialist said its “significant expansion” across 861 large Tesco stores in the UK and Ireland was achieved in just eight months, with an average of 100 new concessions opening each month.
The roll-out involved over 4.5 million toys being delivered to stock the new concessions.

Sneak peek: Greggs to open Champagne bar in Fenwick next week
Greggs is set to open a Champagne bar at Fenwick department store in Newcastle in what it said will be “the UK’s most premium Greggs”.
The bar at Fenwick will launch on 24 October in the department store’s food hall, opening from 11:30am until store closing on a reservation-only basis. It will open until 31 December.

Poundland is rolling out its rewards app nationwide as part of a £20m investment to deliver better value to customers.
Poundland Perks, available on Google Play and Apple App stores, allows customers to collect ‘perk points’ when they spend in store which can be turned into digital reward vouchers to spend in store or online when they reach certain thresholds.
Users will also be offered at least 100 Perks offers on various products in the app at any one time.

ProCook goes on pre-Christmas store opening spree as sales rise
ProCook sales rose 8.8% to £17m in its second quarter driven by a strong retail and online performance, as the kitchenware retailer prepares to open a raft of stores before Christmas.
Second quarter like-for-likes increased by 4.7%, with retail and ecommerce growing by 7.1% and 12.2%, respectively. For the first half, ProCook’s sales climbed by 7.5% to £28.3m and by 4.2% on a like-for-like basis. Gross profit and operating costs were in line with expectations.

Superdry to open new ‘Athletic Essentials’ concept store
Superdry is set to open a new concept store aimed at Gen Z shoppers as it continues with its turnaround plan.
Athletic Essentials by Superdry will open in the Westfield London shopping centre in White City later this week, Retail Week reported.

Retail industry faces £140m rates increase as September inflation revealed
Inflation fell to 1.7% last month, dropping below the Bank of England’s 2% target for the first time in more than three years, according to the latest Consumer Price Index. However, food inflation saw an increase of 0.6 percentage points, rising to 1.9%.
