• UK government unveils plan to tackle shoplifting

  The government has launched a new Retail Crime Action Plan to combat shoplifting today.
  The plan, published by the National Police Chiefs Council, sets out how police should respond to and investigate thefts against convenience stores and other retail businesses.

  The somewhat bizarrely name of Søstrene Grene may soon trip off the tongue for UK shoppers as the Danish homewares chain has its sights on opening 100 stores across the UK by 2030, including its West End flagship that will open later this year.

  Lidl has become the third largest supermarket in London, overtaking rival retailer Asda as it hits a market share high of 9.1%.
  The grocer experienced the fastest growth out of all supermarkets in the city and was named the fastest-growing supermarket in the UK overall by Kantar.

  Pret A Manger has unveiled plans to triple its presence in the US after signing a new joint venture with existing franchisee Dallas International.
