The parent company of Kurt Geiger is preparing to hoist a ‘for sale’ sign above the luxury retailer, with a £400m price tag.
According to Sky News, private equity firm Cinven has hired advisors at Bank of America to handle a potential auction.

Tesco readies itself for Paperchase relaunch
Tesco is preparing to relaunch Paperchase in store and online in the next few weeks, just 10 months after rescuing the business from administration.

Black Friday 2023: One in every six fashion purchases made will be returned
Almost one in every six garments bought on Black Friday will be returned, with Gen Z and Millennials leading the way as the highest returning cohorts, new data from AI platform True Fit reveals.
The report from over 1,000 UK consumers found that while the average shopper plans to send back almost a sixth of the fashion purchases they buy during Black Friday, Gen Z is expected to be the highest returning cohort.

John Lewis launches brand with designers who have grown up in care
John Lewis has launched a new lifestyle brand Made With Care, curated by designers and creators who have grown up in the care system.
The department store retailer unveiled the brand’s first design yesterday, at an event welcoming care experienced people, charities and partners to mark the first anniversary of its Building Happier Futures programme.
The first design was created by Michael Archibald, an 18-year old aspiring artist from Glasgow who has experienced care.

Shoe Zone’s full-year profits and sales have surged thanks to the key Back to School period helping boost performance.
The footwear retailer said its adjusted profit before tax is expected to not fall below £16m for the 52 weeks to 30 September, a 43% increase on last year’s £11.2m.

Pets at Home has been named the “best place to work” across the UK retail industry in a new poll.
The pet care company came first place in digital platform WorkL’s recent “Happy at Work” survey, carried out in partnership with Retail Week.

Supermarket loyalty scheme discounts help grocery sales stabilise
Total till sales at UK supermarkets have seen sustained growth of 9.1% in the last four weeks ending 7th October 2023, only slightly down from +10.1% reported last month new data released by NIQ shows.

THG has kept its annual revenue and profit outlook unchanged after posting a steady rise in revenue growth.
