Miniso has signed a five-year lease to its new 3,200 ft flagship store on 100 Oxford street.
The opening comes as the Chinese giant, which has around 5,791 stores in over 100 countries, presses on with its a rapid expansion across the UK with several more stores set to open later this year to cater to its strong cult following.

Wilko’s new owner The Range has relaunched the brand’s website after buying it out of administration last month.

Ikea’s full-year sales rise as more customers shop for the home
Ikea UK sales have jumped 11.9% to £2.46bn in its 2023 financial year, boosted by more customers shopping for the home amid the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
Tolga Öncü, retail manager at Ikea operator Ingka Group told Retail Gazette that shoppers were purchasing more practical homeware products.
“Storage across the home has been really a high performing category as well as our bedroom, children’s, cooking and eating ranges.”

Poundland owner Pepco delivers record sales growth
Pepco Group has posted record full-year sales growth but said performance was “mixed” against a challenging backdrop.
The Poundland owner saw group revenue rise by 17.7% to a record £4,876m on a constant currency basis for the year ending September 30, 2023, driven by Pepco growth of 24.8% and Poundland growth of 8.4%.
While the group’s fourth quarter revenue rose by 12.5% year-on-year, group like-for-like revenues in the period were flat, but up 6% in the full year.

N Brown has swung to a half year loss blaming challenging market conditions and unseasonable weather.
The JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo owner reported a loss before tax of £4.1m for the 26 weeks to 2 September 2023, compared to a profit of £7.2m in the previous half year.

Hotel Chocolat slips into the red as sales fall 10%
Hotel Chocolat has swung to a loss, citing lower online and international sales as it pivots the business for its “next stage of growth”.
The chocolatier fell from a pre-tax profit of £21.7m to a loss of £800,000 in the 53 weeks to 2 July 2023.
