Next is understood to be close to securing a £100m takeover deal for FatFace.
According to Sky News, the high street giant is understood to be finalising the terms to acquire the fashion retailer, just three years after it was taken over by its lenders.

Lush faces backlash for “boycott Israel” sign in Dublin store
Lush has been criticised by shoppers after a “boycott Israel” sign was seen hanging on the window of one of its Dublin shops.

Asda has cut the price of more than 200 products as part of a £9m investment to support customers with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
The supermarket has lowered the price on 232 branded and own-label products by an average of 14%.

Asos reshuffles product team as two senior directors step down
Two Asos directors have stepped down as the fashion retailer reshuffles its product team amid its ongoing turnaround programme.
Menswear product director Stefan Pesticcio will exit the business at the end of the year after 17 years, while brands director James Barron will leave at the end of this month, Retail Week reported.

BRC backs Labour’s stand on shoplifting to ditch £200 rule
The British Retail Consortium (BRC) has welcomed Labour’s recent stance on retail crime, where it pledged to investigate all shoplifting cases no matter the size.
Speaking at the Labour Party conference yesterday, shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper claimed the party would ditch the £200 rule on shoplifting to clamp down on crime.
In 2014, a law change was introduced meaning anyone charged with the theft of items under £200 did not need to attend court.

Selfridges narrowed its losses last year thanks to a rebound in sales returning to near pre-pandemic levels.
The department store retailer posted an operating profit of £38.9m for the 12 months to January 2023, down from a £38.1m loss the year before, according to accounts filed on Companies House.
