Kurt Geiger has opened the doors to its new 2,916sq ft Oxford Street flagship store, featuring a novel concept that “celebrates London’s creativity and individuality”.
The 2,916 sq ft space at 272-274 Oxford St has been envisioned by Kurt Geiger’s chief creative officer Rebecca Farrar-Hockley and brought to life by architect Stefano Ripoli, featuring concrete ceilings and walls alongside rainbow-hued glass.

Card Factory will open concessions inside Matalan stores as part of its plans to expand its physical footprint.
The greetings card specialist has extended its partnership with the fashion retailer to roll out the concept to all 223 of its branches before the end of the year.

Aldi offers staff body-worn cameras as shoplifting soars
Aldi has become the latest supermarket to offer staff body-worn cameras in a bid to deter shoplifters.
Chief executive Giles Hurley said the move was being trialled in a handful of the supermarket’s stores as crime rates across its portfolio surged.
“There’s an uptick [in shoplifting] across the industry and we’re not immune to that,” he said. “It is a top priority for us.”

Card Factory profits rocket as expansion strategy pays off
Card Factory has posted an uptick in profits as its expansion strategy and investment into store portfolio pays off.
Pre-tax profits for the greeting cards retailer rocketed 72.7% to £24.7m in the six months to 31 July 2023, up from £14.3m.
Sales surged 11.5% to £220.8m, which was underpinned by the “continued good momentum across the business, particularly in the core stores business”.

Asos profits to slip to lower end of guidance as sales drop 15%
Asos has warned that its profits will fall at the lower end of its expectations amid its ongoing turnaround programme as sales drop for the fourth consecutive quarter.
The fashion retailer said its expects earnings before interest and tax to be “around the bottom of the guided £40m to £60m range” for the six months to September 3, 2023.
