Shein’s UK business raked in more than £1bn in sales last year as the retailer continues its expansion across the region.

THG gets net-zero targets validated by official body
THG has had its net-zero science-based targets validated by the official target-setting body.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) – the gold standard for setting and monitoring corporate climate targets – has approved the group’s target to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions across its own operations by 97.7% by 2040, and across the wider supply chain by 90% within the same timeframe.

Wilko collapse takes retail job losses to 100,000 since 2020
The 12,500 jobs at risk from Wilko’s collapse is set to take the number of job losses on the high street to more than 100,000 since 2020, according to new figures from the Centre for Retail Research.
The data shows that there have been more than 17,000 job losses at large and medium-sized retailers this year so far, including some already made at the collapsed value retailer.
However, the bulk of Wilko staff are not yet counted in that total, according to This Is Money.

Frasers boss: Business rates are now equal to rents
Frasers Group boss Michael Murray has called for urgent reform of business rates, which he claims are now equal to the amount retailers spend on rents.
Murray said that retailers used to plan for rates to be around half the rent they pay on properties but they are now around the same level.

Frasers Group has opened the doors to its latest Frasers department store in Norwich over the weekend as it continues to roll out the upmarket format.
