Sainsbury’s ditches use-by dates across own-brand milk range
Sainsbury’s is switching use-by dates for best-before dates across its own-brand milk range, in a bid to help shoppers reduce their household food waste.
The move will impact 44 products, including all fresh and organic milk sold across England, Scotland and Wales.
The change will also affect more than 730m pints of milk sold by the supermarket every year.
New labelling will start in the new year, while the change is due to be completed by the end of February 2024.

Primark is extending its click and collect trial to include womenswear for the first time.
From 13 September, shoppers of the 57 stores included in the click and collect trial will be able to purchase womenswear pieces online for collection in their local shop.
The stores participating in the trial stretch across Greater London and the North West of England and North Wales.
The move allows customers at the discount retailer shop from roughly 2,500 items via click and collect.

Ikea owner eyes mattress recycling expansion
Ikea stores owner Ingka Investments is planning to extend its mattress recycling throughout Europe, Reuters reports.
Speaking on a panel at the Reuters IMPACT conference in London, the company’s managing director Peter van der Poel explained the Netherlands-based recycling strategy would be rolled out across Scandinavia, France and Belgium.
