Kraft tugs at the heartstrings of parents in video starring real families
Kraft wants all the stressed out, exhausted parents out there to know that their kids think they’re doing a great job.
At least that’s the premise of its newly launched #FamilyGreatly campaign, which encourages parents to stop putting so much pressure on themselves to be perfect. The campaign’s message is based off of a survey of more than 1,000 parents and 1,000 children that found that eight out of ten parents feel pressure to be perfect, even though four out of five kids wou -
Ed Pilkington: Connection is the secret sauce for effective working
As a graduate I was told that in business no-one does anything alone. Collaboration is essential in all we do. For many of us our role is to bring together complementary skills to deliver brilliant work. We need to get people to collaborate. Yet collaboration is a word that can be overused. Collaboration isn’t just a cross-functional workshop – it is much deeper than that.
At the heart of collaboration has to be connection. We spend a lot of our time talking about how best to connect -

'Best boss in Britain' explains how one weekend could benefit your agency
Last week, having been to Madrid for the Salad Christmas party and published the obligatory blog about it, we experienced an unexpected whirlwind of press coverage as the story went viral.
Starting with a small story in our local paper, it was then picked up by five major newspapers, international news sites and even Ladbible. I have been dubbed the ‘best boss in Britain’ and the last time we checked, the story had been shared more than 25,000 times. Although we’re pleased (and -
Have yourself a merry little Christmas campaign by planning a year in advance
Christmas is one of the most exciting peaks in any digital marketer’s calendar. And, as with any other major event, planning starts early on.
While it seems unusual to consider festive campaigns in the new year, this is second nature to digital marketers. But there are often many hurdles that come ahead of a winning Christmas campaign, and it’s the approach that matters as much as the creative ideas when it comes to achieving great results.
The most disappointing thing to witness dur -

How to build a successful marketing team today
Over the past few years we’ve seen a massive proliferation in the number of C-level roles. 10 years ago, I’m willing to bet that most companies didn’t have a chief digital officer, the chief communications officer, or a chief customer experience officer. But today, these roles form a core part of the senior leadership team in most businesses.
And more interesting to me personally is that most of these new C-suite jobs are marketing-related. Their growth, I believe, is a direct -

Conversations, not chat bots
The technology enabling brands to automate customer conversations is out there, but successful implementation will require an entirely new way of thinking.
As voice activated technology and behaviours move from the emerging to ubiquitous, conversations will be everywhere.
These conversations will be seamless, connected, and most importantly, expected by customers. Just as we baulk when we lose mobile reception or 4G today, so we’ll curse when we can’t just ‘talk’ to a bra -
The new reality is here, finally
Immersive human experiences are no longer just hype. They are real and available — and can enhance the brand experience.
If you can believe it, it was back in June 2014 that a VR headset took centre stage for the first time; we’re talking about the Oculus Rift in this case. Since then it has been hard to get away from the hype and hyperbole of VR and AR.
With all this noise, it is quite reasonable that many marketers might have put AR/VR aside, seeing it not for now; as a gadget or g -

Are we at risk of losing the human touch in consumer behaviour?
At a time when brands and advertisers are drowning in data, in a bid to understand audience behaviours and activities, are they running the risk of losing the human element by relying on algorithms to make sense of it all?
For years market research was how advertisers learnt about consumers and how to target ads towards them. However lately, such a spend has dipped. Previously, advertisers would look to bigger brands to see how market research was being handled, according to Carlos Serra, h -
