How Jeremy Corbyn's impressive campaign led to huge Labour gains
Jeremy Corbyn executed a simple strategy very effectively and it has resulted in a brilliant set of results for the Labour Party, writes Benedict Pringle, founder of politicaladvertising.co.uk.
There is a regularly held perspective among the political commentator class that “campaigns don’t matter”. The argument is that the fundamentals of the campaign are set months, even years, ahead of polling day and that the campaigns run by our political parties are frivolous a -

The illustrator has designed several pieces of artwork for the charity, calling on Theresa May's newly-formed order to undo what it claims are "divisive laws and rhetoric" that have become an everyday part of UK political life.

How finance brands can appeal to consumers’ emotions
Ten years after the financial crisis of 2007-08 began to rock the economy, and following numerous malpractice and misselling scandals over the years, the media conversation is still dominated by negative perceptions of an industry that is struggling to regain customer trust.
The findings of Edelman’s Trust Barometer make uncomfortable reading for the UK financial sector. The longest running global survey on consumer trust finds that in 2017, just 45% of UK consumers have trust in financia -

What the digital industries needs from the new UK Government
We need long-term, cross-party commitment to digital from our new government.
Since the release of the government’s Digital Strategy back in March there have been too many distractions for it to remain at the forefront of the government's mind. Brexit, a snap election, and now a hung parliament and a likely leadership contest has demonstrated that the government’s Digital Strategy simply isn’t robust enough to survive in their hearts and minds and we’re now seemingly lack -
Democracy and digital are the real winners of GE2017 say UK agencies

Shock General Election result shows the importance of authenticity and youth targeting
Rewind back to April and experts were lining up to dismiss anything other than a large Conservative majority. Yet as the results trickled in this morning, the exit polls, which predicted a surprise hung parliament, were validated, with Labour gaining 31 seats for a total of 261, and the Conservatives losing 12, putting their total at 318.
The Conservatives are planning to cobble together a government through a partnership with Northern Ireland’s the Democrat Unionist Party that would push -

Premier League clubs are calling for more than 200 fixtures to be aired on live UK television in a bid to maximise the value of the league’s broadcast agreements with Sky and BT ahead of the upcoming tender process.

Newspapers ‘missed an opportunity’ to rally youth support during the election ‘in the way Labour did’
While the right-leaning newspapers were busy trying to come up with the best Corbyn-bashing puns in the run up to the snap election, the Labour party were quietly mobilising the British youth on social media. Now that the press have called it wrong for a third time in a year (Brexit, Trump) is it time they started to take social’s influence more seriously?
British newspapers, especially Conservative-supporting titles, are read by an overwhelmingly older audience. According to the NRS, 70% -

Snapchat: Why marketers should believe the hype and take advantage of the platform
Pity us, the poor marketers who learnt the essentials of our craft before 2012.
Five short years ago last month, the rest of the working world was alerted to the existence of Snapchat by CEO Evan Spiegel’s first company blog post.

Re-balancing creativity, data and technology: the rise of post-modern marketing
For the past 20 years, emerging digital technologies have led to what is commonly known as modern marketing. They have tilted our world toward what the analysts at Forrester call “left-brain marketing” with its strong emphasis on data, science and math. But with much less emphasis on the emotional truths required to transform advertising and marketing into great advertising and marketing.
Global B2B agency Stein IAS believes an extremely necessary marketing course correction is -
