Trying to “retrofit” television into digital is harmful because it devalues advertising inventory, according to Nick Troiano, CEO of Cadent.
“We in this space do a disservice to ourselves when we try to apply digital to television. We should come up with our own definition and terms and not try to retrofit television into digital, because it really does a disservice to everything we’re doing.”

Retailers take note: life’s good if you sell direct

This week The Drum’s Mystery Shopper compares the online performance of four of the largest electronics producers, Samsung, LG, Panasonic and Sony and assesses whether their execution will in the long-term prove a serious th -

Hull City saw one of their sponsors turn on them this weekend after a photoshoot opportunity was used as a platform to protest the club’s owners.

Why personalisation is difficult but worth doing
Personal service used to mean that the greengrocer knew your name and what fruit and vegetables you liked to buy at their shop. When businesses first became digital, it meant sending emails to people, addressing them by name.
Now that every consumer owns a variety of digital devices, the definition of personalisation has become more complicated – and it is more difficult to achieve. It means reaching the right people, in the right place, at the right time, according to participants at a r -
