    UNISON Welfare’s Energy Support Fund opens for applications on Wednesday 5 October, on the UNISON website.
    This is a one-off non repayable grant of £200 for members struggling with their energy bills.
    The application form will go live at 11am on the day, on the Energy Support Fund page on the website.

    Administrators, cleaners, library, security and catering employees are among staff at Manchester Metropolitan and Liverpool Hope universities taking strike action today (Tuesday) in a dispute over pay.
    The workers, among the lowest paid in the higher education sector, walked out after rejecting a 3% pay award from the University and Colleges Employers Association.

    UNISON member Alvina Ware (pictured above) is a clinical practice support worker at the Royal United Hospital (RUH) in Bath. Over the past two years, Alvina has transformed hair and skincare for Black patients at the hospital.

  • Royal Northern College of Music and UNISON sign historic agreement as staff prepare to strike 

    An agreement has been signed by the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) and UNISON that will give employees the right to be represented by unions.
    The deal, signed by the union’s general secretary Christina McAnea, allows UNISON and the University and College Union to negotiate with college managers on behalf of staff about pay and their working conditions.
