• Markel shuffles excess casualty reporting lines

    Markel has reorganized the leadership structure of its excess
    casualty business, with managing directors Matt Muller and Colin
    Shaw now reporting directly to Alan Rodrigues, executive
    underwriting officer for casualty, the insurer said today.
    Mullen and Shaw are responsible for running the risk management
    excess casualty business within the Markel Assurance division.

    Insurers with significant terrorism risks must focus on stress
    testing, limits management and reinsurance as the possible
    expiration of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Reauthorisation
    Act (TRIPRA) looms, AM Best said in a report today.
