    Expansive broker Seeman Holtz has announced a deal to buy
    Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based DernCo Insurance.
    The Florida-headquartered intermediary has been targeting
    independent agencies as it looks to expand geographically and
    continue on its growth trajectory.
    In a statement, Seeman Holtz said Rich Dern and his team would
    move over with the transaction after serving Wisconsin and Colorado
    for more than 25 years, allowing the firm to strengthen its
    foothold in the Midwest.

    A "hidden flood" component could push insured losses
    from Hurricane Harvey toward the $40bn upper bound of the current
    RMS estimate for the event, according to an executive at the
    modelling firm.
