InsurTech startup Trov says it has won approval from 23 state
regulators across America as it gears up to launch in the country
later this year.
The carrier, which describes itself as the world's
"first on-demand insurance platform for single items" is
already up and running in the UK and Australia.
It is now targeting the US, which is the world's largest

AmTrust shares advance on ADC deal
Investors today responded positively to AmTrust's $400mn
adverse development cover (ADC) agreement with
Arch-owned reinsurer Premia.
AmTrust shares rose almost 3.7 percent to close at $15.30 on the
Nasdaq stock exchange.
The insurer's decision to secure about $400mn in coverage
above its $6.59bn of carried loss reserves as of 31 March ill
result in a $61mn pre-tax charge against second quarter
earnings.
AmTrust said the deal became effective on 30 June and covered
exposures through to 1 April 20 -
Neptune trims Novae stake amid sale price dissatisfaction
Neptune Investment Management has sold the majority of its stake in
Novae hours after it told this publication that Axis Capital's
offer to acquire the company could have been "materially
higher".
Before the sale Neptune was Novae's single largest
shareholder.
According to a regulatory filing, the firm has opted to sell
almost 7.0 million shares in the carrier - over two thirds of its

Ironshore opens M&A and tax hub in Frankfurt
Liberty Mutual's Ironshore International has opened an
office in Frankfurt to sell M&A and tax liability insurance to
private equity and investment banking clients.
Former lawyers Markus Messinger and Daniel Müller will lead
the Frankfurt operation.
"Ironshore has established the dedicated M&A presence
in Frankfurt to better serve our German-speaking clients that
demand a local offering with regional market expertise," said

Ian Posgate passes away
Ian Posgate, one of the most prominent Lloyd's underwriters
of the second half of the 20th century and a former Council member,
has died.
Posgate's family said he passed away in hospital earlier
today after a short illness.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Posgate underwrote 20 percent of the
Lloyd's marine market, earning him the nickname
"Goldfinger".
Posgate began his Lloyd's career at Frank Davey's
syndicate in the 1950s and became a Name in 1957.

European Commission (EC) as part of its investigation into possible
breaches of EU antitrust rules in Ireland.
Officials from Brussels and the Competition and Consumer
Protection Commission (CCPC) have become concerned that the Irish
fleet motor market has fallen foul of anti-competitive
behaviour.

All in all, it's a pretty anodyne read, with a number of
