• Insurers dodge a bullet as Matthew spares much of Florida

    Florida property insurers and millions of residents breathed a
    collective sigh of relief today as Hurricane Matthew's fury
    largely stayed at sea, sparing much of the state from the
    storm's strongest winds.
    Shares of the five publicly traded property insurers with the
    biggest exposure in the state rebounded smartly from Thursday's
    depressed levels, and many reinsurers saw gains as well.
