  closed a deal to take over Midwestern carrier Old National
  Insurance.
  In a statement released today (8 July), the company said it had
  also acquired Old National Insurance subsidiaries JWF Specialty and

  Lancashire has appointed Robert Lusardi as non-executive
  director, effective today (8 July), the company announced.
  Emma Duncan, a non-executive director on the Lancashire board,
  has stepped down after almost six years.

  Floridian insurer Heritage Property and Casualty Insurance has
  withdrawn a request to increase its rates by 14.9 percent following
  discussions with the state regulator.
  The proposal, which related to homeowner policies in Florida,
  requested the regulator to remove renewal rate caps and to allow
  the company to adjust its prices by territory, with the
  fluctuations capped at 25 percent.

  Insured losses from the Alberta wildfires in May are likely to cost
  C$3.58bn ($2.76bn), making them the costliest insured natural
  disaster in Canadian history, according to the Insurance Bureau of
