    continued its rapid expansion with the hire of Robbie Hubbard from

    Big-three broker Aon has found that the average price of
    directors and officers (D&O) coverage has fallen to the lowest
    level since it started tracking rates a decade ago.
    The price of $1mn of limits fell by 9.2 percent in the first
    quarter compared to this time last year continuing an almost
    uninterrupted downward pricing trend.

  • Altmaier appointed Florida insurance commissioner

    David Altmaier has been unveiled as Florida's new insurance
    commissioner, bringing to an end a process that was blighted by
    indecision in the state's cabinet over appointing a successor
    to Kevin McCarty.
    Altmaier is an internal appointment, having most recently served
    as deputy commissioner for property and casualty insurance.
    In a statement today (29 April), McCarty thanked Belinda Miller,
    Rich Robleto, and Eric Johnson, three internal candidates who also
    interviewed for the role.
