    Everest Re has appointed Christopher Downey as deputy chief
    underwriting officer for the group, the carrier announced today (19
    February).
    Downey has joined from Montpelier Re - now part of Endurance -
    where he served as senior vice president and head of its global
    casualty and specialty treaty division.
    The move to Everest Re will see Downey reunited with the
    Bermudian's executive vice president and chief underwriting
