JLT Specialty USA has hired Brian Taliaferro as senior vice
president for its entertainment and hospitality practice, the
broker announced today (26 January).
Taliaferro, who will be based in JLT's Los Angeles office,
will lead the company's gaming and hospitality segment, in
addition to developing and managing relationships with clients in
the entertainment practice.
He joins from Aon Risk Solutions, where he led the gaming
practice. Prior to this, Taliaferro served as a process analyst at

Generali shares fall 5% on CEO exit reports
Generali shares fell nearly 5 percent this afternoon (26
January) following media reports CEO Mario Greco has left the
company.
Shares in the Italian-headquartered insurer fell to a low of
EUR13.88 ($15.01) per share after Reuters reported the executive
had departed, after months of speculation.
At market close, the share price had recovered to EUR14.15, down
3.15 percent.
Sources told Reuters Greco had left for personal reasons, and
not because of differences with Generali shareholders. It is

AIG strengthens reserves by $3.6bn
American International Group (AIG) has boosted its loss reserves by
$3.6bn after suffering adverse development in casualty, financial
lines and run-off business, it announced today (26 January).
A total of $1.3bn has been set aside for the accident years 2004
and prior, while the remaining $2.3bn has resulted in an average
increase of just under 0.7 percentage points for the 2005-2014
accident year loss ratios.

AIG sets out defence against break-up
American International Group (AIG) has confirmed the partial IPO
of its mortgage business and announced the sale of its US
broker-dealer network to Lightyear Capital in a raft of measures
aimed at streamlining operations and refocusing its business.

Andrew Bailey, CEO of the UK's Prudential Regulation Authority
(PRA), is to become head of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Bailey will leave his position as PRA CEO and as deputy governor

Shevlin to lead Chubb's Southeast US team
James Shevlin has been named senior vice president of North
American insurance and regional executive officer of Ace's
newly-amalgamated Chubb operation.
The carrier had previously tipped Shevlin as regional chief

RLI misses as top line grows
RLI Corp reported operating profits of $24.6mn, or $0.56 per share,
for the fourth quarter of 2015, missing Wall Street's consensus
estimate of $0.65.
The result marks a deterioration since the same period last year
when the US-listed carrier reported profits of $31.3mn and $0.71
per share.
Gross written premium grew by 3 percent to $201mn for the
quarter, up from $194mn for Q4 2014.

Brown & Brown saw organic revenue grow by 2.5 percent in the
final quarter of last year, while its earnings per share (EPS) beat
