• Swiss Re Corporate Solutions to buy ESL writer for $152mn

  Swiss Re's expansive primary insurance arm has agreed a deal to
  buy employer stop loss (ESL) underwriter IHC Risk Solutions for
  $152mn in cash.
  In a statement, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions (SRCS) said the
  transaction will see it purchase IHC Risk Solutions'
  operations, personnel and business portfolio, broadening its
  offering in the small and middle-market self-funded healthcare
  benefits segment.

  Chaucer Syndicates has made a string of senior leadership
  promotions including that of CUO Bruce Bartell to deputy CEO, it
  announced today (5 January).
  John Fowle, previously head of the specialist lines division,
  will take over as CUO. He will continue as active underwriter for
  Syndicate 1084, a role that he has held since 2009.
  Operations director David Bendle has been appointed COO, taking
  over from David Mead. Mead will now shift his focus to
